New distillate hydrocracker starts up at Dalian refinery

Total announces the startup of a new distillate hydrocracker

Total (Paris, France; announces the startup of a new distillate hydrocracker at the Wepec petroleum refinery in Dalian, China, in which the Group holds a 22.4% stake. Representing a total investment of $240 million, the new conversion unit increases the refinery's diesel fuel production capacity by 40% to 3.5 million m.t./yr, to meet the growing needs of the Chinese market for low-sulfur products.
