A new controller for electric trace heating

The new BSTW II family of mechanical controllers and limiters for electric trace heating has system approval for hazardous (potentially explosive) areas (94/9/EC), which covers the self-limiting heating cables as well. The current capacity of the BSTW II family has been increased from 16 A to 25 A. Longer heating circuits can be connected to a controller and limiter, which also cuts installation and material costs. The ambient temperature range is –55 to 50°C. Large 6-mm2 terminals allow easy installation. The BSTW II family is available as a single-channel controller and limiter, as a combination unit with controller and limiter for constant Wattage heating cables, and as a multi-unit. Up to three heating circuits can be connected to the enclosures. — Bartec GmbH, Bad Mergentheim, Germany
