Altana doubles U.S. production capacity for additives

The specialty chemicals group Altana (Wesel, Germany; has announced the grand opening of a plant for its additives subsidiary BYK USA Inc.  The expanded facility is located in Wallingford, Conn. With this plant, BYK more than doubles production capacity in the U.S. and increases worldwide supply chain security for its additives. The expansion project represents a $50 million investment from Altana, the largest single investment the Group has made outside of Germany.
