A small-footprint grinder for wet or dry operation

The 1-SHRED-H (photo) is an industrial grinder intended for small-facility use in recycling, food-processing and food-waste applications, including waste preconditioning for composting or anaerobic digestion. The dual-shafted grinder operates at low speeds and high torques to deliver very high cutting forces. The 1-SHRED-H is suitable for use in wet or dry applications and does not require additional process water to grind products down to size. Designed with a small footprint, the grinder’s ability to be mounted in a variety of orientations allows the unit to fit into areas with tight space restrictions. The unit is PLC-controlled, incorporating a motor-current monitoring auto-reversal sequence, which ensures that unexpected debris will not jam and damage the grinder. — JWC Environmental, Costa Mesa, Calif.
