Automation offers substantial benefits for bulk chemical manufacturers in cost reductions, streamlined processes, and competitive differentiation. However, market uncertainties and the rapid advances in automation technologies can leave manufacturers unsure of which investments will provide the greatest returns. In this study, conducted by Chemical Engineering, we examine the bulk chemical industry outlook as seen through the eyes of the manufacturer as well as their individual approach to automation and plans for future investments.
