| BASF to expand European production for hexamethylenediamine and polyamide 6,6
BASF SE (Ludwigshafgen, Germany) decided to build a new hexamethylene diamine (HMD) plant in Chalampé, France. The new plant is set to increase BASF’s HMD production capacity to 260,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr). Production is expected to start in 2024. Lummus Technology (Houston) has been awarded a contract from LUKOIL Permnefteorgsintez for a new integrated methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) and alkylation plant at LUKOIL's refinery in Perm, Russia. The MTBE unit will use Lummus' CDEtherol technology and the alkylation unit will use Lummus' innovative CDAlky technology. Lummus' scope includes technology licensing, basic engineering, technical services and proprietary equipment supply. »
