BASF to expand production capacities for methane sulfonic acid in Ludwigshafen

Orion to build new production plant for acetylene-based conductive additives
Orion Engineered Carbons S.A. (Luxembourg) announced plans to build the only plant in the U.S. producing acetylene-based conductive additives – a critical link in the value chain for lithium-ion batteries, high-voltage cables and other products powering the global transition to electrification and renewable energy. Orion’s planned facility will be located in La Porte, Texas, south of Houston. »
DuPont Interconnect Solution completes production expansion at Ohio site
DuPont Interconnect Solutions, a business within DuPont’s Electronics & Industrial segment, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with elected officials and business leaders to formally mark the completion of its $250-million capital project to expand production of Kapton polyimide film and Pyralux flexible circuit materials at the Circleville, Ohio manufacturing site. »
 
AGC to increase chlor-alkali production capacity in Thailand
AGC Inc. (Tokyo) decided to increase the production capacity of AGC Vinythai Public Co. Ltd. (to be established in July 2022), a new company to integrate AGC’s chlor-alkali business in the Indochina Peninsula. The capacity increase is planned at two manufacturing sites in Thailand, and the start of operation is scheduled for 1Q 2025. »
Solvay takes full ownership of soda ash JV in Wyoming
Solvay S.A. (Brussels, Belgium) announced the acquisition of the 20% minority stake of AGC in the Soda Ash JV operated in Green River, WY, building on its leadership position in trona-based soda ash production. Solvay and AGC formed the Solvay Soda Ash Joint Venture (SSAJV) in 1992. The facility, operated by Solvay, produces soda ash and sodium bicarbonate from trona. »
 
LyondellBasell licenses high-pressure polyethylene technology to Jiangsu Hongjing New Material Co. Ltd.
LyondellBasell Industries N.V. (Rotterdam, the Netherlands) announced that Jiangsu Hongjing New Material Co. Ltd. will use its Lupotech T high-pressure polyethylene technology at a new facility. The process technology will be used for two 200,000-ton/yr vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA) lines. The facility will be located in the Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province, China. »
