Achieving peak performance and reliability on Fluidized Catalytic Cracking Unit (FCCU) precipitators is always a concern of operators. These precipitators can be particularly challenging because they operate with extended run times, often 5 to 6 years, while maintaining reliable performance and emissions compliance. As such, there are two questions that FCCU operators should ask when looking to optimize the performance of their precipitators:
- What can we do to achieve consistent performance between shutdowns?
- When we are on a shutdown, how can we determine what needs to be worked on so we can operate as optimally as possible during our next run?
