The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for July 2024 (most recent available) was slightly lower, but almost unchanged, compared to the previous month’s value. Since 1963, the chemical process industries (CPI) have used Chemical Engineering‘s Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) to adjust process plant construction costs from one period to another. Today, however, they have the ability to retrieve CEPCI data more promptly and on demand than the old method of searching for old copies of the magazine or waiting for the next one to arrive with new data.
