Lanxess AG (Cologne, Germany) has reached an understanding with Canadian company Standard Lithium on key points for further cooperation on the latter's lithium project at the LANXESS site in El Dorado, Arkansas, USA. Accordingly, in the event of industrial production of battery-grade lithium by Standard Lithium, LANXESS will supply the brine required for the extraction of lithium.  MORE

Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, Tenn.) announced that it has completed the previously reported sale of its Texas City Operations to INEOS Acetyls. Texas City Operations was previously part of Eastman’s Chemical Intermediates segment. Eastman has retained ownership of its plasticizer business at the site, which INEOS now operates for Eastman as part of this agreement.  MORE

CF Industries Holdings, Inc. (Deerfield, Ill.) announced that it has closed its acquisition of Incitec Pivot Limited’s (IPL) ammonia production complex located in Waggaman, Louisiana. (Tokyo) has been awarded engineering and procurement contract for an acetylene black project by Denka SCGC Advanced Materials Co., Ltd., a joint venture company of Denka Company Ltd. and SCG Chemicals plc (SCGC; Bangkok, Thailand). Acetylene Black is a type of carbon black used for applications such as EV lithium-ion batteries and high-voltage transmission cables. MORE
