This ball valve is designed for acetylene service
BV-5-FFKM is a heavy-duty ball valve purpose-built for acetylene trailer service (photo). Designed as the main manifold valve for acetylene transport trailers, the BV-5-FFKM controls the loading and offloading of gas at customer sites. Given acetylene’s volatility, the valve is rated to 5,000 psi in service and tested to withstand 20,000 psi. It is engineered to maintain containment even in the event of an acetylene decomposition inside the trailer. The BV-5-FFKM integrates the fittings directly into the valve bonnet, eliminating field welding entirely. Additional features include a cavity relief system to prevent trapped gas in the ball cavity, FFKM O-ring seals for superior leak resistance and corrosion-resistant stainless-steel construction.
