The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for November 2022 (most recent available) fell slightly from previous month’s value. The decline is the fifth consecutive monthly decrease, following a long string of increases between November 2020 and June 2022. For November 2022, the Equipment, Buildings and Construction Labor subindices all fell, offsetting a small increase in the Engineering & Supervision subindex. The current CEPCI value now sits at 5.4% higher than the corresponding value from November 2021. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators show decreases in the CPI output index and the CPI operating rate for November 2022.
