The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index® (CEPCI) for July 2025 (most recent available) rose by a significant amount compared to the previous month’s value. The July 2025 value is the highest since September 2022. The uptick in the current CEPCI was a result of increases in the Equipment, Construction Labor and Buildings subindices. The Engineering & Supervision subindex fell by a small margin in July. The current CEPCI value now sits at 2.4% higher than the corresponding value from July of last year. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators (middle) show decreases in the CPI output index and the CPI operating rate for July 2025, and an increase in the CPI value of output for June 2025.
