The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for March 2025 (most recent available) was higher than the previous month’s value. The current value returned to near its value from the start of the year, after a small decline in February 2025. The uptick in the March CEPCI was a result of increases in all four CEPCI subindices: Equipment, Construction Labor, Buildings and Engineering & Supervision. The current CEPCI value now sits at 1.1% lower than the corresponding value from March 2024. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators show an increase in the CPI output index and a flat CPI operating rate for March 2025, and an increase in the CPI value of output for February 2025.
