2026 CEPCI updates: July (prelim.) and June (final)

| By Scott Jenkins

The preliminary value for the CE Plant Cost Index (CEPCI) for July 2026 (most recent available) rose compared to the previous month’s value. The increase continues the upward trend in the CEPCI values that has been observed since September of last year. The rising CEPCI reflects inflationary pressures that have been in place for the past year. The uptick in the overall July CEPCI was a result of significant increases in the Equipment, Construction Labor and Buildings subindices. The Engineering & Supervision subindices saw a very small decline. The current CEPCI value now sits at 7.4% higher than the corresponding value from July 2025. Meanwhile, the Current Business Indicators show a flat CPI output index for July.
