A more efficient system for making compressed air

| By Chemical Engineering

Specializing in energy-efficient systems for compressed air, this firm has developed systems that allow energy savings of the initial compressor-power consumption. As an example, a conventional compressor with nominal flowrate of 160,000 Nm3/h and a discharge pressure of 18.5 bars requires a power of 22 kW, whereas this firm’s PTP, EES and EES-RTC systems have respective power requirements of 21.6, 21.33 and 21.01 kW, says the firm. An existing compressor train can increase the nominal flowrate by up to 15%, and a new compressor can be designed smaller with less stages.
