An Efficient and Economical Way to Recover Regrind

| By Chemical Engineering

Because of higher costs for virgin resins, plastics processors use more and more valuable regrind. This firm has developed a new compact and economical system for recovering regrind with an extremely high cleaning efficiency. The heart of the system is the DeDuster, which removes resin dust, streamers, metal dust, dirt paper and other contaminants. The contaminants are then separated from the air in a high-efficiency cyclone and collected in a dust drum located under the cyclone. The cleaning air is passed through an inline filter before returning to the DeDuster. Regrinds with dust loads of 20% and more will be cleaned to dust loads below 1%. — Hall 7, Booth 317 — Pelletron Corp., Lancaster, Pa.
