Axens lands modernization contract for Talara Refinery

Peruvian Oil Co. Petroperú (Petroleos del Perú S.A.; www.petroperu.com.pe) and Axens (Rueil-Malmaison , France; www.axens.net) have signed a first contract for the modernization of Talara, Petroperú’s largest refinery. The main objectives are the expansion of the refinery and the implementation of new units for higher quality products.
Axens will supply the following process technologies for the refinery:
• Naphtha hydrotreater – 13,300 bbl/d
• Semi-regenerative reformer – 9,500 bbl/d
• Prime-G+ – 9,500 bbl/d for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) gasoline desulfurization unit
• Sulfrex – 8,000-bbl/d unit for the treatment of unsaturated liquefied petroleum gas
