Badlands NGLs, LLC (Denver, Colo.; www.badlandsngls.com) and Univation Technologies, LLC (Houston; www.univation.com), a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company (Midland, Mich.; www.dow.com) announced that Badlands has licensed Univation Technologies’ Unipol PE Process for four polyethylene (PE) reactor lines, representing a total capacity of 2.4 million metric tons (m.t.). The capacity is to be split between its two sites, one in North Dakota and one in a yet-to-be-named site also in North America. Each site will be home to two world-scale 600,000-m.t./yr reactor lines. Badlands has indicated a potential need for future expansion. The production lines will use Univation’s LLDPE and HDPE catalysts.
