BASF SE (Ludwigshafen, Germany) and Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Ltd. (CATL; Fujian, China) have signed a framework agreement for cathode active materials. Under the agreement, BASF will cooperate with CATL on a global scale. CATL has selected BASF as its important supplier. BASF will support CATL’s global layout through its global production network.

CATL has also partnered with global mining giant BHP to improve mining and material sustainability. BASF produces a broad portfolio of battery materials, including those that incorporate recycled materials.
