Degussa name change

By Chemical Engineering |

The Chemical Business Area of Evonik Industries AG (Essen, Germany; edlinks.chemengonline.com/6900-542) is the new identity of what was formerly known as Degussa. The other two business areas of Evonik Industries are energy and real estate. The German coal-mining operations will be known under the name of RAG, and will not be connected with the new industrial group, Evonik. Last month at the company headquarters in Essen, CEO Werner Müller presented the new brand with which Evonik plans to enter the capital market in the first quarter of 2008.
