Eastman acquires dielectric fluids assets from Arkema

Eastman Chemical Co. (Kingsport, Tenn.) announced it has acquired the brand and certain assets related to the Jarylec dielectric fluids business from Arkema S.A. (Paris la Defense, France). The acquisition includes key trademarks, customer list, technical documentation and intellectual property supporting the dielectric fluids business used in high-voltage transformers and power grid applications.

“This acquisition is a strategic move to leverage Eastman’s world-class technology platforms and enhance offerings to service the needs of the dielectric fluids market,” said Sharon Dunn, general manager, specialty fluids and energy, Eastman. “Customers can expect quality and service under the trusted Jarylec brand, now backed by Eastman’s manufacturing expertise and global technical service network.”

Eastman will continue to produce dielectric products now under the Jarylec dielectric brand at its existing manufacturing site located in Marl, Germany, leveraging state-of-the-art processes and rigorous quality standards to deliver consistent product performance. The Jarylec dielectric brand has long been recognized in the industry for its trusted performance and reliability.
