Plant Watch LyondellBasell grants license for new plant in the Slovak Republic September 23, 2008 — Slovnaft Petrochemicals, s.r.o., a subsidiary of the MOL Group, has selected LyondellBasell’s Lupotech T technology for a new 220,000-metric tons per year (m.t./yr) low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant planned to be built in Bratislava, located in the Slovak Republic. Startup is expected in 2012. INEOS and Puralube announce a new plant at Bamble Norway September 23, 2008 — INEOS Bamble AS and Puralube Nordic AS (a joint venture between Norsk Spesialolje AS (NSO) and Puralube GmbH) have announced an agreement to locate a new environmentally friendly lubricant-oil plant on the INEOS site at Rønningen, Bamble, Norway. The new plant, which is to be built, owned and operated by Puralube, will convert waste oils into super-clean lubricants. Puralube Nordic AS plans to invest 400-million NOK in the new Bamble facility and when commissioned in 2010, the plant will be capable of producing around 75,000 m.t./yr of high viscosity, low-sulfur, water-white lubricant oils.
