Evonik Industries AG (Essen, Germany; www.evonik) has begun to build a plant form the production of organically modified specialty silicones in Shanghai, China. The project is part of a global investment initiative, with a first production expansion commissioned in late 2014 in Essen. The new facility is being built on the multi-user site (MUSC) in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park and is scheduled for completion in mid 2017.
