These flowmeters handle high-volume gases

3One of the primary challenges associated with measuring the flow of a gas is that accuracy can be reduced by changes in temperature and pressure. This company recently added two new flowmeters (photo) — Type 8007 (designed for pipe sizes with diameter ranging from 0.5 to 12 in.) and Type 8008 (designed for pipe sizes up to 2 in. in dia.) — to its product offerings. These devices are designed for measuring especially large gas flowrates. They use the calorimetric principle of flow measurement, ensuring that measurement accuracy is unaffected by changes in temperature and pressure, says the company. Because this method of measurement requires no moving parts, these flowmeters deliver overall reliability and high accuracy, even at relatively low flowrates.— Bürkert Fluid Control Systems, Gloucestershire, U.K.
