This compressor delivers high flow in a compact design

The latest addition to this company’s DrillAir family of portable air compressors is the X-Air+ 800-20 (photo). Delivering up to 800 ft3/min, the model is said to deliver high flow at 20 bars of pressure in a compact design. This ability makes transport and logistics of the compressor easier without requiring any compromises on performance. The company says the X-Air+ 800-20 also allows 11% greater fuel efficiency than its predecessor models, enabling a low total cost of ownership. The X-Air+ 800-20 is optimized for applications that operate comfortably at 20 bars, such as foundation drilling, abrasive blasting and pipeline services. Avoiding unnecessary ultra-high pressure, this model reduces energy consumption and wear, making it a cost-effective choice in situations where speed and efficiency are important, but users want to avoid over-specification of equipment. The compressor is powered by a 6.7-L Cummins engine, and is controlled by a Xc2004 controller, a next-generation interface designed for intuitive operation. — Atlas Copco Group, Stockholm, Sweden
