This cleaner is ideal for food, beverage and dairy applications
Challenge is a clean-in-place cleaner with a high percentage of available chlorine in a heavy-duty, high-sequestered formulation that is ideal for food, beverage and dairy cleaning applications (photo). This unique formulation is low-foaming, even at high concentration and high circulation velocities. It is free-rinsing in hard or soft water, leaving a spotless surface. High detergent activity coupled with high available chlorine make Challenge ideal for a wide variety of food-and-beverage CIP applications, including circulation in-place cleaning of equipment lines in breweries, milk plants and similar installations. Typically used at 0.5 to 3% by volume, the available chlorine level remains above 50 ppm. Challenge is generally used at temperatures between 120 and 180°F, with the exact dilution and temperature determined by the soil loading. Challenge is safe for use on stainless and ferrous alloys and is not recommended for use on aluminum and zinc alloys. Before using Challenge, food products and packaging materials must be removed from the room or carefully protected. After using Challenge, all surfaces must be thoroughly rinsed with potable water. — Madison Chemical Co. Inc., Madison, Ind.
