This device streamlines wastewater debris handling

The High-Capacity Washer-Compactor (photo) from this company streamlines wastewater debris management with superior volume reduction, enhanced reliability and reduced operational costs. With dual 10-in. counter-rotating augers, which effectively compress and dewater debris, the compacter achieves 80% reduction in debris volume and 70% mass reduction. Powered by a 10-hp motor, it efficiently processes wood, rags, bricks, hardhats and even metal, ensuring consistent performance even in unpredictable wastewater environments. This unit’s dual counter-rotating augers provide continuous positive displacement, keeping debris moving forward and minimizing operator intervention. Common maintenance concerns for the unit are reduced by removing brushes traditionally used to clean strainers, as well as integrating a floating strainer with self-cleaning functionality. The washer-compactor is capable of processing 450 to 600 ft3/h. — Duperon, Saginaw, Mich.
