GEA supplies Air Cooled Condenser to Israel

By Gerald Ondrey |

GEA Group AG (Bochum, Germany; www.geagroup.com) received the order to design, manufacture and supply the Air Cooled Condenser — worth €10 million — for the extension of the 250-MW, gas-fired power plant Tzafit in Israel. The extension will increase the capacity of the power plant to 370 MW by adding a steam turbine to the process. This will at the same time increase the efficiency of the power plant. “This new order from Israel continues the successful co-operation of GEA with power plant operators in the country that started almost 30 years ago and has led to a substantial share of plants that use GEA components”, says Jörg Jeliniewski, division president of GEA Thermal Engineering, which is part of GEA’s Energy and Farm Technology Segment.
