Green Carbon Development, led by Process Technical Services (PTS; Houston, Tex.; www.processtechnicalservices.com), an established technical services provider to the refining and process industries, announced today that it has selected Axens (Rueil-Malmaison, France; www.axens.net) Vegan® technology for its upcoming renewable fuels facility.
Designed for a capacity of 10,500 barrels per stream day (BPSD), the project will deploy the Vegan hydroprocessing solution to flexibly produce both Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and Renewable Diesel (RD). This dual capability enables Green Carbon Development to respond to evolving market needs while maximizing carbon abatement potential across the transportation sector.
The facility will leverage PTS’s extensive experience in plant design, operations, and startup services along with expertise in agricultural sourcing and feedstock logistics provided by the identified feedstock partner. By integrating Axens’ proven technology, the venture is positioned to become a cornerstone of the region’s clean energy economy.
Axens will provide thetechnology license, catalysts, proprietary equipment, operator training, and technical services for the project. Axens brings decades of innovation in renewable fuels, beginning with Esterfip™ biodiesel technology — winner of the 2007 Kirkpatrick Award for Chemical Engineering Achievement — and advancing to today’s Vegan® solution, a globally recognized pathway for producing SAF and HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oils) via the HEFA process. With numerous commercial references worldwide, Vegan® enables producers to scale SAF and RD production while reliably meeting decarbonization targets.
