Industry’s first continuous monitoring unit for filter media

| By Mary Page Bailey

This company’s Electronic Bed Media Monitor (EBMv2; photo) is said to be a first-to-market technology for measuring filtration-media consumption in real time. Through continuous monitoring and an electronic notification system, this monitor makes filtration-unit maintenance predictable and plannable. The EBMv2 features six externally wired and mounted sensors to detect changes in the life of the adsorbent media. The sensors transmit this information to a control panel that predicts a media consumption date based on a proprietary algorithm. Instantaneous readings mean that there is no sampling required, and no wait time for test results. A predictive alarm sends alerts when media is partially and completely consumed. The system also provides odor-control accuracy and system reliability. — PureAir Filtration, Norcross, Ga.
