| By Mary Bailey

INOX Air Products Ltd. (INOXAP; Mumbai, India) has inaugurated its new 200-ton-per-day (TPD) liquid air separation unit (ASU) at Atchutapuram, Andhra Pradesh. The facility was inaugurated by Shri T. G. Bharath, Hon’ble Minister for Industries and Commerce, Government of Andhra Pradesh. Also present on the occasion were Shri Sundarapu Vijay Kumar Garu, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly, Yelamanchili; Shri Pragada Nageswara Rao Garu, chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Road Development Corporation (APRDC); and Siddharth Jain, managing director, INOXAP.

Spread across 6.77 acres, the new facility will produce liquid oxygen (LOX), liquid nitrogen (LIN) and liquid argon (LAR), aiming to strengthen the availability of critical gases for Andhra Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem and medical oxygen for its healthcare infrastructure. It aims to support the requirements of the pharmaceuticals, petrochemicals, steel and metals, ferro alloys, chemicals, glass and engineering sectors, alongside emerging solar and semiconductor applications. The facility can also be optimized to produce ultra-high-purity liquid nitrogen at 5N purity for specialized applications in solar and semiconductor manufacturing. By strengthening the supply of essential gases, the facility also intends to support the region’s industrial development and Andhra Pradesh’s Swarna Andhra 2047 vision.

Speaking on the occasion, Jain said, “This facility reflects our confidence in Andhra Pradesh’s industrial potential and our commitment to building critical gas infrastructure ahead of demand. Industrial gases are a vital component of modern manufacturing, while medical oxygen is a critical component of healthcare delivery. Our first 200 TPD ASU in the State of Andhra Pradesh, at Atchutapuram, aims to strengthen the availability of both, supporting established industries and emerging applications in solar and semiconductors. It also aims to create employment opportunities across its operations and associated services. We thank the Government of Andhra Pradesh for its support as we deepen our presence in the State and contribute to its progress and prosperity.”
