IOCL selects Toyo Engineering for two new refinery projects

Toyo Engineering India Pvt. Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Toyo Engineering Corp., has been awarded two Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning (EPCC)  contracts by Indian Oil Corp. Ltd. (IOCL; New Delhi).

The first EPCC contract is for a 3.6-million ton/yr Vacuum Gas Oil Hydrotreater (VGO-HDT) Unit at Panipat in the state of Haryana in India. IOCL plans to expand its existing refinery from 15 million ton/yr to 25 million ton/yr. The total investment in this expansion project is over 400 billion yen. This VGO-HDT is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2024.

The second EPCC contract is for a new 2.5 MMTPA Vacuum Distillation Unit (VDU) planned by IOCL in Vadodara, Gujarat, Western India.  IOCL’s Gujarat Refinery is one of India’s largest petroleum refineries. The refinery is currently planning to expand its existing refinery from 13.7 million ton/yr to 18 million ton/yr. The total investment in this expansion project is more than 300 billion yen, aiming for more efficient refinery operation and high-value-added product production. This project is expected to be completed in the first half of 2024.
