JGC awarded hydrotreater project in Singapore

By Gerald Ondrey |

JGC Corp. (Yokohama, Japan; www.jgc.co.jp) has been awarded a contract by ExxonMobil Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. for the engineering, procurement, and construction of the main process facilities for a diesel hydrotreater project. This project is located at ExxonMobil’s Singapore Refinery. The new diesel hydrotreater unit is expected to produce more than 9-million L/d of ultra-low sulfur diesel fuel by 2014. When used in modern engines, ultra-low sulfur diesel, commonly used to run everything from tractor-trailers, buses and marine vessels to off-road equipment such as backhoes, threshers and locomotives, leads to improved air quality.
