Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Nikkiso CE&IG; Temecula, Calif.; www.nikkisoceig.com), a subsidiary of Nikkiso Corp. (Tokyo, Japan; www.nikkiso.com), announced yesterday it has completed the commissioning of an air-separation unit for Coregas (Yennora, NSW, Australia; www.coregas.com.au), a Nippon Sanso company in Queensland, Australia.
The new Cosmodyne plant in Darra, Brisbane, Australia, will produce liquid oxygen and nitrogen each day, with the potential for further expansion, primarily to supply the Queensland industrial gas, specialty and medical markets.
George Pappagelis, President of Nikkiso CE&IG’s Applied Technologies Business Unit, said: “Our engineering team has developed a specialized air separation plant incorporating a unique process cycle that delivers optimized liquid production and best-in-class power efficiency.
Nikkiso CE&IG delivered the project through a coordinated approach between its global manufacturing network and its Australian operations. Key equipment was manufactured at Nikkiso CE&IG’s facility in India and integrated with locally manufactured components and installation services provided by the team in Australia.
This model allowed Nikkiso CE&IG to provide a fully installed turnkey solution while combining its global engineering expertise with strong local execution capability.
Tarun Changrani, Managing Director at Coregas, commented: “This new facility is a game-changer for Queensland – driving real sustainability gains and ensuring a resilient supply of essential gases for local industry. We’re raising the bar for the region, powering growth and decarbonization with confidence.”
