Nissan Chemical Corp. (Tokyo) has decided to establish a new manufacturing facility for the company’s new herbicide Ryzonic® (iptriazopyrid) at its consolidated subsidiary in India, Nissan Bharat Rasayan Pvt. Ltd. (NBR). NBR was established in 2020 as a joint venture (JV) between Bharat Rasayan Ltd, a major Indian agrochemical manufacturing and sales company, and Nissan Chemical. The JV built a new plant in Saykha, Gujarat, India in March 2023 and then started operations.
This investment aims to build a stable supply system capable of meeting future demand expansion, in anticipation of the global rollout of Ryzonic®, a novel herbicide discovered by the Company. It is positioned as a highly important strategic investment that will drive future business growth. The new facility is scheduled to be completed and begin operations in fiscal year 2028. Ryzonic® is planned to be launched in 2027 in major markets, including Japan and India, followed by further global expansion. Through this initiative, the Company aims to strengthen its global supply capacity and enhance its competitiveness in the paddy rice herbicide market.
