A gasket for near universal chemical compatibility

The Sigma® ONE (photo) is a high-performing, biaxially oriented polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) gasket designed for critical chemical-service applications. It is made with a proprietary filler added to the PTFE during the manufacturing process. Both PTFE and the filler material are known for their exceptional chemical resistance. The filler stabilizes the gasket and is compatible widely with strong acids, strong bases, hydrofluoric acid, cooking liquors and others. This company’s proprietary manufacturing process allows for high-performance in every direction (biaxial). The high compressibility of the Sigma One provides easier installation and lower load to seal, minimizing the likelihood of equipment damage. It also provides superior resistance to creep (instability under heat and pressure), increased sealability and decreased emissions. — Flexitallic US LLC, Deer Park, Tex.
