Plant Watch Petrochina selects Axens for clean fuels projects August 2, 2007 — PetroChina selected Axens’ desulfurization technology for the production of clean gasoline in two of its gasoline-producing complexes. The Jinxi Petrochemical Complex in Liaoning Province will install a 32,800-bbl/d grassroots facility that will be fed by fluidized catalytic cracked (FCC) gasoline. The Dagang Petrochemical Complex in Tianjin Municipality will construct an 18,200-bbl/d unit operating on 100% FCC gasoline feedstock. Siemens signs agreement for first U.S. gasifier order from Secure Energy August 2, 2007 — Siemens Power Generation (PG) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Secure Energy, Inc. to supply two entrained-flow gasifiers, with a thermal capacity of 500 megawatts each, for the Secure Energy gasification plant in Decatur, Ill. The plant will convert high-sulfur coal into pipeline-quality natural gas. The plant is scheduled to be completed in 2009 and has the design capacity to produce 20-billion ft3/yr of synthetic natural gas.
