Solvay considers new on-site H2O2 production capacity in Russia

| By Gerald Ondrey

Solvay S.A. (Brussels, Belgium; www.solvay.com) has signed an agreement with Siberwood LLC to examine the construction of new hydrogen peroxide capacity in Russia, using Solvay’s innovative myH2O2 technology, which is particularly suitable for large customers requiring secure on-site production in remote areas.

Solvay and Siberwood are assessing whether Solvay is to build a Satellite Peroxide production unit, known as myH2O2, on Siberwood’s green-field project of producing 900,000 ton/yr of market pulp, in the Krasnoyarsk region, Siberia, Russia.

This tailored, on-site unit would be fed by the excess hydrogen feedstock from Siberwood’s upstream chemicals plants and supply hydrogen peroxide to Siberwood. Siberwood would also provide other utilities and site services to Solvay’s Satellite Production unit.

Solvay’s myH2O2 Satellite Peroxide production units’ unique performance for safe, reliable and competitive operation originates from multiple patented innovations in process intensification and in compact, skid-mounted design.
