The new facility is strategically located in the U.S. Gulf Coast, near key raw materials, which will help reduce potential supply chain disruptions and improve speed to market. The investment in this facility includes capabilities for both ethoxylation and propoxylation with a capacity of 75,000 metric tons per year (m.t./yr) of alkoxylates.

Stepan Company has already hired more than 40 employees for the Pasadena site and these employees have completed over 27,000 hours of training. This facility is Stepan’s third alkoxylation plant, strategically enhancing our manufacturing capabilities and long-term capacity for our growing product portfolio in surfactant technologies. These technologies are essential to various markets, including agricultural, oilfield, construction, cleaning and personal care markets.

Stepan is committed to delivering value and enabling our customers’ success. By investing in our alkoxylation production network, we are bringing additional capacity and product offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers and support the increasing global demand for our products.
