Thailand LDPE plant to be controlled by InFusion

Invensys Process Systems (www.ips.invensys.com) has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract by Simon Carves Ltd. to provide an InFusion Enterprise Control System through an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for PTT Polyethylene Co. Ltd. (PTT PE). Invensys will provide a complete enterprise control solution for the grass-roots, 300,000 ton/yr low-density polyethylene (LDPE) plant that will be built at the Padaeng industrial estate in Thailand. "This is an indication of the growing interest in integrated enterprise control throughout the Asia Pacific region. The control system will consist of an integrated distributed control, emergency shutdown, operations data management and enterprise asset management solution. We are pleased to be working with Invensys for this project," said John Priest, Simon Carves Ltd. Through the contract, Invensys will provide an InFusion Operations Data Management System (ODS), Foxboro I/A Series distributed control system, Triconex emergency shutdown, and an Avantis integrated asset management system.
