BUG gear-drive, bung-mount mixers feature a heavy-duty 5:1 helical gearbox to create ample torque to quickly blend higher-viscosity materials like heavy paints, resins, and polymers, and to re-suspend settled materials. They screw into 2-in. NPT bung openings and come standard with stainless-steel wetted parts, and folding impellers, making them ideal for mixing 55-gal drums. BUG-series mixers are available with ¾–4 HP air motors that operate from 60-600 rpm, ¼–1 HP TEFC electric motors at 350 rpm, 1/3–1 HP variable speed electric motors that operate from 0–350 RPM, and ¼ to 1 HP Explosion proof electric motors at 350 RPM. Gear-drive, bung-mount mixers are ideal for tackling tough mixing applications, including blending higher-viscosity materials in 55-gallon drums or other containers with standard 2-in. bung openings. BUG-series mixers come with multiple motor types and options to ensure compatibility with power and safety requirements. Totally enclosed, fan-cooled (TEFC), explosion-proof (EP) and air motors are available as standard. TEFC models come with a cord, switch, and three-prong plug, while electric variable-speed models feature a speed controller mounted directly on and prewired to the motor. Air motors deliver variable speed for maximum flexibility or multiple applications, are lighter in weight than electric models, and reduce the possibility of explosion in a combustible environment. EP explosion proof electric units have motor leads only, ensuring safe operation in hazardous environments. The unique folding propellers collapse to fit easily through 2” NPT openings, then expand to 4-in., working well with closed or open drums. All wetted parts are made of stainless steel for chemical resistance and long-lasting performance. — INDCO, New Albany, Ind.
