The new ZCore depth cartridge filter is said to offer improved performance, less downtime and reduced operating costs. The ZCore is especially suited for extreme applications where traditional cartridge filters are not effective, such as hot-water sanitizing, high-temperature chemical processing, and very dirty streams where significant pressure drop can develop. The ZCore is available in a variety of micron ratings and lengths, and offers a 90% efficiency for particles as small as 0.5 µm. The filters meet the criteria for use in USP Class VI environments and functions at maximum pressure differentials ranging from 15 psid (1.03 bars) at 180°F to 60 psid (4.14 bars) at 86°C. — GE, Trevose, Pa.
