Xylan HB is a new high-performance non-stick coating that achieves good film integrity at film thicknesses of 75 μm with a single cure. Films of thicknesses up to 125 μm are also accessible with longer cure times. The coating is said to be a good alternative to perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) powder. Because it can be applied as a thick film, Xylan HB offers extended wear characteristics. It is ideal for applications with rough surfaces, from commercial waffle irons to molds that are recycled repeatedly. — Whitford Corp., Elverson, Pa.
