This tool provides realtime data on refractory wall loss

By Chemical Engineering |

Tracerco

InDepth (photo) is a non-intrusive inspection tool that provides realtime critical measurement information concerning the condition of the refractory lining on the internal walls of process units, such as fluidized catalytic cracking (FCC) reactors, regenerators and boilers, while the system is operational. The portable tool can be used to accurately define the size of a known area of thin refractory and determine the full extent of the refractory wall loss. According to the company, the tool will help users to better prepare for upcoming plant turnarounds, as it can prevent unnecessary vessel entry and cost overruns. — Tracerco Ltd., London, U.K.
