Toyo Engineering’s process technology selected fir Kazakhstan’s first urea plant

| By Mary Bailey

Toyo Engineering Corp. (Tokyo) announced that its proprietary urea granulation technology has been selected for Kazakhstan’s first-ever urea plant project planned by KazAzot Prime LLP, a chemical fertilizer manufacturing company.

Under this project, TOYO will serve as the licensor of urea granulation technology and will be responsible for providing a technology license, a Process Design Package (PDP)*, key equipment procurement, and related technical services. Engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) will be carried out by Wuhuan Engineering Co., Ltd. (Wuhuan), a major Chinese engineering firm.

TOYO’s selection is a testament to its extensive experience, with over 100 urea technology licenses and plant construction projects delivered worldwide. The company’s successful collaboration with Wuhuan on previous initiatives played a key role in this decision.

The upcoming facility marks a significant milestone as Kazakhstan’s first urea production plant, with all production primarily intended for use in agricultural fertilizers.
