Westlake Corp. (Houston) announced that its Westlake Epoxy plant in Deer Park, Texas, has received International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) PLUS. The certification covers liquid epoxy resins (LER), solid epoxy resins (SER), and liquid epoxy blends that combine LER with reactive modifiers, serving key end-use segments such as industrial coatings, construction, wind energy, composites, automotive and electronics. Starting today, existing and new customers will have access to these ISCC+ mass balance-attributed content of certified renewable feedstock. These solutions support sustainability objectives while maintaining the same quality, performance, and specifications as our standard epoxy resins.
“This is an important milestone for Westlake Epoxy in North America and a key step in bringing more renewable raw materials into our global supply chain,” said Brian Powers, Senior Vice President, Performance & Essential Materials. “ISCC PLUS mass balance-attributed certification at Deer Park allows us to offer U.S.-made epoxy resins produced under a certified mass balance system, with the same high performance our customers expect. It strengthens our global EpoVIVE™ platform and supports our customers as they pursue their sustainability objectives.
“Each new ISCC PLUS certification is another step in Westlake Epoxy’s strategy to integrate renewable carbon materials into our raw material supply chain, while working to reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. This latest certification further demonstrates Westlake’s long-term commitment to responsible manufacturing, supporting more sustainable epoxy solutions for customers worldwide,” added Brian Powers.
With its Duisburg (Germany) and now Deer Park (U.S) plants certified, Westlake Epoxy is broadening access to ISCC PLUS mass‑balance-attributed epoxy resin using certified renewable feedstock across Europe and North America to help our customers meet their own sustainability targets.
