The WIKA Group (Klingenberg, Germany; www.wika.com) acquired AB Svenska Industri Instrument SINI (Gothenberg, Sweden; www.sini.se) as a wholly owned subsidiary, effective 1 August. This move strengthens the global measurement technology manufacturer’s presence in Sweden. Established in Gothenburg in 1948, SINI was originally founded as a service provider for the shipping industry. Since SINI became a distributor for WIKA measuring instruments in 1970, the partners have steadily expanded their joint business. Today, SINI enables Swedish companies to directly access a broad portfolio of instrumentation for measuring pressure, temperature, level, flow and force. They also benefit from various services such as calibration, installation and warehousing.
“The acquisition of SINI as a subsidiary marks a strategic milestone for WIKA in Northern Europe,” says Sascha Niederhagen, Executive Vice President EMEA India at WIKA. “Our local presence allows us to offer Swedish customers more tailored advice and enhanced support.”
Jesper Hagström, Chief Executive Officer of SINI, comments: “As a partner for the Swedish market, we have enjoyed a long and successful cooperation with WIKA. We are delighted to now join the group and thus be even better positioned to provide our existing customers with fast, first-class services. We also plan to leverage the combined sales power of WIKA and SINI to target new customers.”
