Worley Ltd. (North Sydney, Australia) has been selected by Australian company St George Mining as feasibility technical advisor for its Araxá niobium and rare earths project in Brazil, led by Worley Consulting Brasil and delivered through Worley’s Brazilian subsidiary, Worley Engenharia Ltda

St George has defined a world-class mineral resource of niobium and rare earths elements at Araxá, in the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais. These critical minerals are used across steelmaking, advanced electronics and battery technologies.

“We’re pleased to partner with St. George to bring our regional expertise and global capabilities to support the Araxá Project,” said Tom Foster, Worley’s SVP for Global Operations – LATAM&C. “This partnership reflects Worley’s long standing track record in Brazil and our capability to support complex resources projects from early studies through to operation.”

Worley will provide strategic consulting, engineering and project management support across feasibility and cost studies, metallurgical and process engineering, mine planning, process plant design, tailings management, procurement and plant construction.

Worley Consulting will coordinate the integrated delivery model, bringing strategic advisory, study management and local stakeholder interface to help align the feasibility work with project objectives and Brazilian requirements.

“Having supported the early engagement through Worley Consulting, we’re pleased to see this progress into feasibility support for Araxá,” said Sergio Ariztia, VP for Worley Consulting – LATAM&C. “We’re bringing independent advisory and disciplined project definition to help inform robust, value‑based decisions.”

The award was supported by Worley’s extensive resource sector expertise across all project phases, combined with more than 60 years of experience in Brazil.

“With a world-class resource already defined at our project, the appointment of Worley will enable our economic studies to gain momentum as we look to fast-track development and take advantage of our favorable project logistics,” said John Prineas, St George Mining’s Executive Chairman.

Worley will work closely with St George’s experienced in country team as development studies progress. The Araxá Project is located in an established mining region with access to infrastructure and a skilled workforce.
