Detect and Contain Leaks with this Clear Piping

| By Chemical Engineering

Intended for fluid applications requiring visual monitoring, this new line of clear ANSI Schedule 40 PVC pipe can provide confirmation of flow direction, fluid color changes or contamination within a system. It can also be of practical value as secondary containment piping for the immediate detection and isolation of system leaks in dual-containment applications — such as the processing of aggressive chemicals or the transport of high purity fluids during semiconductor processing. Offering the same physical characteristics as opaque PVC and completely compatible with standard Schedule 40 PVC fittings, the use of clear PVC piping promises significant cost savings over the detection instruments required in opaque piping systems. The piping is available from stock in pipe sizes from 1- to 3-in. dia. in 10- and 20-ft lengths with bell ends, and 10- and 20-ft lengths with plain ends are available from the firm upon request. — GF Piping Systems, Tustin, Calif.
